Age 71, made his departure Friday, May 13, 2022 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital with his family by his side. Clyde was born May 17, 1950 in Mound City, IL to Willie B. Hackney and Clyde D. Hackney Sr. Clyde was a high school graduate with some college who soon after enlisted in the United States Army.

Clyde had many siblings. He is survived by Olga, Travis, Carlene, Tondalaya, Jennifer, Yvette, Bernon, Elise and Anthony. His siblings Estella, Barbara and Donald preceded him in his death.

Clyde married Toni Adams in January, 1974 and had two sons Tony and Zaire (Donya) Hackney. From this union he has six grandchildren.

Clyde married Carolyn Patterson-Hackney January 7, 1996 and she preceded him in death January 19, 2011. He gained two stepsons, Leroy (Cassandra) and Clarence (Della). Four grandddaughters were adopted in this union, Charlotte (Montel), Crystal, Whitney (Kenny) and Synthia (Andre). To this union Clyde has 17 grandchildren, Faith Lindsey preceded him in death.

Clyde leaves behind a special friend, Eldore Moore, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends whom he loved dearly.

A funeral service will be held 1 pm Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Stark Funeral Professionals with family hour beginning at noon. Clyde will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
