Charlie Cecil Hylton, age 88, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026, in Belleville, MI.

Born on August 11, 1937, in Knott County, Kentucky, Charlie was the son of the late Forester C. Hylton and Vivian (Halcomb) Hylton. He lived a life filled with love for his family, a strong appreciation for the outdoors, and a quiet faith in God.

Charlie was a quiet and humble man who found joy in the simple things in life. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and hunting. Some of his most treasured memories were made outdoors, including rock hunting with his daughter, Kathy. He especially enjoyed golfing with his sons, Michael and Byron, and grandchildren, creating lasting memories and sharing special moments together on the course. Charlie also loved fishing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sharing his passion for the outdoors and creating memories that they will treasure for years to come. Whether spending time with family, casting a line into the water, or exploring in search of unique stones, Charlie appreciated the beauty of God's creation and the time spent with those he loved.

Charlie will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, quiet strength, and devotion to his family. He led by example through his steady presence, love for others, and the values he carried throughout his life. His faith, wisdom, and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Charlie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce Jean (Millard) Hylton; his parents, Forester C. Hylton and Vivian (Halcomb) Hylton; and his sisters, Wilma (Hylton) Jackson and Mable (Hylton) Amburgey.

He is survived by his sister, Christine (Hylton) Coburn of Mousie, Kentucky; his children, Kathy (Bob) Murray of Oscoda, Michigan; Michael (Karen) Hylton of Milan, Michigan; and Byron Hylton (Liz Madsen) of Belleville, Michigan.

He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Sara Smith of Saline, Michigan; Michael (Mariah) Hylton of Ypsilanti, Michigan; Rachael Adoure Zehaim of Toledo, Ohio; Lizzy Murray of Oscoda, Michigan; and Emily (Christian) Spencer of Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Charlie was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Christopher and (Holly) Smith of Belleville, Michigan; Allie Smith and (Max Vincent) of Saline, Michigan; Makenzie Smith of Saline, Michigan; Zayn Adoure Zehaim of Toledo, Ohio; and Hadley Spencer of Ann Arbor, Michigan and a great-great-grandson, Callahan Smith of Belleville, Michigan.

Charlie also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will remember him with love and cherish the memories they shared with him.

Charlie leaves behind a legacy of love, family, faith, and countless cherished memories. He will be remembered for his gentle nature, his love of the outdoors, his devotion to those he cared for, and the many quiet moments of happiness he shared with his family. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on through the stories shared, the traditions continued, and the love he gave so freely.

With faith in God, his family finds comfort knowing that Charlie has entered into eternal life and has been reunited with his beloved wife, Joyce, in Heaven.
