Sprau, Charles Herbert

Age 102, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023 in Northfield Township, MI. He was born July 14, 1921 in Detroit, MI, the son of William and Bertha (Miller) Sprau.

Throughout his lifetime, Charles was a man of faith, family and perseverance. He was a lifelong Methodist, graduate of the University of Detroit, and was the longest-serving member of the Kiwanis Club #1 of Detroit. He had a successful career as the owner of Barnes Fence Company. In his free time, he enjoyed boating and antique cars.

Charles married Beverly Downe December 28, 1944 and together they shared 74 years of marriage until her passing in 2018. Their union brought three sons, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life graveside in Akron, NY, in the summer of 2024. Charles will be interred next to Beverly and other family members.
