Cecil Lee Meador Sr., passed away November 1, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family. Special thanks to Debi Batey, Cecil Meador Jr., Shelly Meador, Michael Boatright, Jason Meador, Eric Ejarque Jr. and Elizabeth Batey for assisting with his care for the two weeks that he was sick.

Cecil was born in Roanoke Virginia, where he resided until his tour of duty with The United States Navy, during the Korean War. His father was Harry Milton Meador, and his mother was Anne Maria Harvey. Cecil was an Entrepreneur, Self-Employed Building Contractor, and Landlord. Cecil resided and had homes in Roanoke, Virginia; Buffalo, New York; Ypsilanti, Michigan; Heredia and Guanacaste, Costa Rica.

On July 3, 1954, Cecil married the love of his life, and the mother of his children, Mary Ann Riley. Although they divorced in 1979 after 25 years of marriage, they remained best friends until Mary Ann's death on May 22, 2022.

Cecil was a proud member of the American Legion Post 282, Licensed Builders of Michigan, and he was a member of LA Fitness (formerly Vic Tanny, and Bally's) for over 50 years.

Cecil's first priority was family; however, he also enjoyed scuba diving, exercising, racquetball, golf, traveling the world, and cruises.

Cecil is survived by his two younger brothers Ernest (Buddy) Meador, and Ralph Meador; his children Deborah Batey (Doug "Bates"), and Cecil Meador Jr. (Valerie).  His grandchildren; Michael Boatright (Megan), Douglas Batey II (Ashley W.), Kyle Batey (Ashley), Elizabeth Batey (Josh Milligan), Shelly Meador, Jason Meador (Emaleigh), Justin Meador (Sherry), Mindi Rahn (Mike), Jared Meador, Jaremy Meador (Brittany), Donald Prichard, Daniel Prichard (Jeanette), Eric Ejarque Jr., Brian Ejarque, Travis Ejarque, and Cassie Kilpatrick. Cecil also is survived by 41 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Cecil also had three very special friends from Costa Rica; Patty and Henry, and Gladys.

Cecil was preceded in death by; his parents, 10 siblings, Love of his life Mary Ann Meador-Thomas (nickname "Meador") Daughters; Judee Meador-Full, Connie Meador Ejarque, Great-granddaughter Michelle Byrd, and Great-great granddaughter Lucy Sue Graham.

Cecil Lee Meador Sr.'s viewing will be on Monday, November 10, 2025 from 6-8 pm at Stark Funeral Professionals (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti 48197). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 (Veterans Day) at 11 am with visitation starting at 10 am, also at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Union-Udell Cemetery (9742 Textile Road, Ypsilanti 48197).

Pura Vida was one of Cecil's favorite sayings it means, "Life is Good".
