Cathy Linn Ballard, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and aunt passed away peacefully at the age of 68 on June 19, 2024. Born on October 6, 1955, to Everett and Doris Muller, Cathy grew up in Ypsilanti, Michigan, where she graduated from Willow Run High School in 1974 as well as Automation Institute of Ann Arbor.

Her infectious laughter and vibrant personality brought joy to all who knew her. Her wrath brought fear to many (LOL). Cathy's greatest legacy is her family; survived by her daughters Crystal (Jason) Bennett (Ypsilanti) and Leanne Ballard (Arizona); son Donnie (Heather) Ballard (Milan), grandchildren James, Brendan, Shane, Jayden, Hunter, Drew, Trevor, Christian, Kyle and Alexis; great-grandchildren Liliana, Leighton and Ollie. Spoiled by her husband Donald Ballard who preceded her in death. Her unwavering love for her family extended to her five siblings, making her the baby of six: Shirley Gray (deceased), Barbara (Guy) Cole, Linda (Leon) Ouellette, Connie (Pat) Suarez and Frank Henry (deceased); as well as a sister she did not grow up with but was close to, Vicki (Ed) Hamilton.

Cathy was employed in various positions at the University of Michigan for 25 years; her favorite and last position as delivery driver allowed her to connect with countless individuals, leaving a lasting impression. Known to frequent local establishments, Cathy's presence brought a unique blend of humor and warmth. Her unfiltered honesty and 'tell it like it is' approach made her both feared and adored. Despite being banned from several places (LOL), Cathy remained everyone's favorite 'crazy mom, wife, sister, daughter, and aunt.' Behind her bold exterior lay a heart of gold.

Cathy possessed a remarkable blend of strength, sensitivity, and bluntness. Her unwavering support and unconditional love touched the lives of countless friends and family members. Her ability to connect with others on a deeply human level left an indelible mark on all who crossed her path. Cathy's absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of her loved ones. Her memory will forever be cherished for her infectious laughter, unwavering spirit, and boundless capacity for love.

The family would like to thank Cathy's niece Alana for being there through everything. The family has chosen to honor Cathy with a party instead of a funeral service, likely late August or early September, and will send out an announcement once plans are finalized.
