Carrie L. "Midge" (Collins) Fitch

Age: 87

Passed away suddenly Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at The Gilbert Residence in Ypsilanti, MI.

She was born July 28, 1937 in Freeburn, Kentucky, the daughter of Carl and Dorothy Collins. She grew up in West Virginia and moved with her family to Michigan in her early teens. She married Paul Fitch, January 21, 1967 in Ypsilanti and they were married for 22 years before his death in 1989.

She was employed by Visiting Nurse Association of Huron Valley as a home health aide until retirement in 1999. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Ypsilanti and spent the last five years at The Gilbert Residence.

Survivors include her two children, Paul (Chalsey) Fitch of Ypsilanti, MI and Rebecca (Andrew) Humm of Mooresville, NC; four grandchildren, Marisa Fitch, Aiden Humm, Claire Humm and Chase Fitch; a sister, Barb Tolbert, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Paul, she was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Dorothy; brothers Carl (Bud) and David Collins; and sister, Janet (Suzie) Ochinero.

Funeral service will be 1 pm Monday, June 30 at Stark Funeral Professionals with visitation beginning at 11 am. Pastor Scott Caudill will officiate. Burial will follow in Cherry Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The First Free Will Baptist Church of Ypsilanti or The Gilbert Residence .
