Carolyn "Cal" Noel Redpath Sykes. December 15, 1960 - March 04, 2024. Carolyn passed away peacefully at age 63 after a long illness, surrounded by friends and family.

Carolyn was born in Detroit, grew up in Ann Arbor, and graduated from St. Thomas High School and Eastern Michigan University. She was a dedicated teacher at Head Start and really enjoyed teaching and caring for her little students. Before starting her teaching career, Carolyn moved to Lansing to care for her nephew Johnny after the death of his dad, and made sure Johnny had the love and support needed to finish high school and begin his adult life. When Mom and Dad were older, Carolyn was always around to help with cooking meals, cleaning the house, and generally surrounding our parents with love and silliness. We all loved her so much and will miss her terribly, especially her ability to make us laugh and relax a little.

Preceded in death by her parents Jack & Tess (Zammit) Redpath and big brother Mike Redpath. Survived by her dear friends Brian Smith and Karen Watts; her sisters Nancy (John) Santrock, Lynne Durston, Karen Kalmbach, Mary (Phil) Dascola, Julie (Michael) Petteys; her brothers Gerry (Judy) Redpath & Paul (Therese) Redpath; 16 nieces and nephews; and 6 great-nieces and nephews.

Viewing at Stark Funeral Professionals 4-8 pm Friday, March 8, 2024 (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti). Rosary will be at 7 pm. Funeral mass will be held 1 pm Saturday, March 9, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with in state at 12:30 pm (830 S. Lafayette Street, South Lyon).
