Age 60, went home to be with the Lord Monday, March 21, 2022. Byerc was born July 12, 1961 to Daniel and Shirley Cox in Ypsilanti, MI.

She worked as a secretary, among many other things, for Sealandaire Technologies in Jackson before medically retiring in 2009. Above all, Byerc cherished time spent with her family. She also enjoyed reading, gardening and aspired to be an author. Byerc will be remembered for her bubbly personality and contagious smile and laugh, but most of all, she will be remembered for the love she shared with everyone.

In 1979, Byerc fell in love with Carl Smith. She moved to California to be with him while he served in the Marines. In 1983 they moved back to Michigan to start a family and together they raised three wonderful sons.

Byerc leaves behind the love of her life, Carl Smith of Ypsilanti, their cherished sons Joseph Smith of Milan, Joshua Smith of Ypsilanti and Justin (Brittany) Smith of Belleville; former spouse, Steve Worsham, bonus children Amanda (Rick) Baxter and Jacob (Kennedy) Worsham, all of Jackson; adored grandchildren Layla Smith, Hope, Isabella and Emmett Smith, Jayce Smith, Karlee Rushton, and Austin and Kaylee Furnas; beloved sisters Donna (Arthur) Jordan and Beth (Scott) Powers of Saline; brother Daniel Cox II of Ypsilanti, and a slew of nieces, nephews and cousins loved beyond compare.

She is welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Daniel and Shirley Cox; infant grandson James Thomas Galanti-Smith and four-year-old nephew Ralph Fleenor III (Kicker).

A funeral service will be held 11 am Monday, March 28, 2022 at Stark Funeral Professionals with visitation beginning at 10 am. Joseph Blackburn will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2-8 pm Sunday, March 27, 2022. Byerc will be laid to rest at Union-Udell Cemetery in Ypsilanti Township.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
