Long Jr., Brother George Eddie

Age 77, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022 at his home. He was born August 5, 1944 in MS, the son of George and Mary (Bradford) Long Sr., the eldest of eight children.

George enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking and lawn care. He was known to keep an amazing lawn and yard. He also treasured time spent with family. He retired from General Motors and served in the U.S. Army. George had silver in hair and gold in heart.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Dorothy, 12 children, a whole host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm Friday, January 21, 2022 at New Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Ann Arbor. Reverend Keith D. Wilson Sr. will officiate. The family will receive friends 4-8 pm Thursday, January 20, 2022 and beginning at 11:30 am the day of the service. George will be laid to rest at United Memorial Gardens in Superior Township, MI.
