Brenda Elaine Hizer went home to be with the Lord on October 11, 2025, at the age of 74.

A longtime resident of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Brenda was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She worked for over 20 years at Houdini's Dry Cleaning on Michigan Avenue, where she was known for her dedication and friendly nature.

Brenda was a woman of quiet strength and deep love. A member of Trinity Free Will Baptist Church, she lived her life in service to others—always putting family first. She was the ultimate mom and grandmother, making sure her son and his friends were well-fed and her grandchildren always felt loved and cared for.

She had a gift for baking, and her kitchen was always filled with the sweet smell of homemade treats. Her Black Forest cake and peanut butter fudge were fan favorites among family and friends. Brenda also loved traveling to visit her loved ones, never missing an opportunity to bring joy and comfort wherever she went.

Brenda is survived by her son, Eric Hizer (Regan); daughter-in-law, Cherekiana Adams; beloved grandchildren, Ava and Elijah Hizer; and her brother, Mike Bennett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walker General Bennett and Audrey Mae Bennett (née Barnett); her husband, David Ray Hizer; her sister, Iretha Bennett; and brothers Harold, Gerald, Darrell, Doyle, Laurel, and Lionel Bennett.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date to honor Brenda's life.
