Beulah Lee Webb was born May 6, 1934 in Oxford, Mississippi, to Alberta and David Lee Webb Sr. She moved to Chicago, Illinois at a young age, where she met Jasper Gatson Sr. and they married in 1951. To this union were born 5 children: Robert, Gloria, Diane, Jasper Jr., and Joyce. Beulah passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family.

The family relocated to Ann Arbor, Michigan in the early 1970's, and Beulah began working in several supervisory roles at Campus Inn, Sheraton Hotel, Chrysler, and eventually retired from the University of Michigan. These roles were all short-lived as the only career Beulah actually claimed was that of a homemaker. She always said it took a lot to raise these 5 kids. Beulah gave her life to Christ at an early age, and joined Bethel AME Church under the leadership of the late Reverend John A. Woods Sr. Beulah was a member of the Ann Arbor Elks and a daughter of the Daisy Chain Temple 212-Ann Arbor Chapter. She was a regular blood donor at the American Red Cross and continued to donate to various organizations, including March of Dimes, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Beulah frequently volunteered at Northside Community Center to assist with food donations. Beulah was always willing to help others. Beulah enjoyed hobbies such as knitting, crocheting, playing bingo, going to the casino and racetrack, and playing cards with her friends.

Beulah was preceded in death by her parents Alberta (Anderson) and David Lee Webb Sr., husband of over 65 years Jasper Gatson Sr., sister Dorothy James, son Robert Gatson, daughter Diane Buck, nephew Darrick Webb, grandchildren Carlene, Darnell, Jackye, Jasmine, and Max. Beulah is survived by her brother David Lee (Rochelle) Webb Jr., children Gloria Thompson, Joyce Sistrunk, Jasper (Aune) Gatson Jr., a host of grand children, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews

A funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, March 13, 2026 at New Hope Baptist Church (218 Chapin Street, Ann Arbor). Family Hour to begin at 10 am. The family will receive friends at 4-7 pm Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Stark Funeral Professionals (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti).
