Betty Jean Prentiss, age 63, passed away on June 26, 2026, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Born on August 15, 1962, in Trenton, Michigan, Betty was the daughter of Clinton and Betty (Bash) Ohl. On April 11, 1984, she married John E. Prentiss, who preceded her in death.

Betty found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a talent for knitting and crocheting. She was also an avid fan of Betty Boop, whose spirited personality brought a smile to her face.

She is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Connie Ashenhurst (Ron), Ruth Shyfield (the late Thomas), and Alice Walsh (the late Michael); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Prentiss; her parents, Clinton and Betty Ohl; her sister, Christine Ohl; and her sister, Donna Prentiss.

A funeral service will be held 1 pm Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Stark Funeral Professionals. The family will receive friends 12 pm until time of service. Betty will be laid to rest at United Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society .
