Age 78, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022. She was born January 27, 1944 in Ellenton, FL, the daughter of Hattie Yarn and Butter Douglas.

Betty loved to read The Holy Bible to her children before putting them to bed and watching her soap operas. She spent many years working as a seamstress and nursing aide in Troy, NY and later a drugstore cashier in Ypsilanti, MI.

Betty leaves behind her loving children Hortense (John) Frank of MD, Bridget (Brian) Beverly of VA, John C. (Carolyn) Parker Jr. of NY, Regina Parker of FL, Roger Parker of NY, and Anne Marie Parker of MI; siblings Winifred Freeman, Caesar (Betty) Douglas, and King Douglas, all of Florida; son-in-law Socrates Montes DeOca; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, John C. Parker Sr., her parents, sister Shirley Botchen, and daughter Lynette Montes DeOca.

Family and friends are invited to call 1-2 pm Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Stark Funeral Professionals. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm. Her final resting place will be Memorial Gardens in Palmetto, FL.
