Betty Anne Harmon, age 86, passed away surrounded by family on February 12, 2026, at Chelsea Retirement Center. She was born March 10, 1939, in Jackson, Tennessee, the daughter of Floyd and Willie (Taylor) Kuykendall.

Betty resided for many years on Silver Lake in Pinckney, Michigan, where she created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unforgettable memories. For more than 50 years, Silver Lake sunsets and boating with family and friends were among her greatest joys.

On August 17, 1957, she married the love of her life, Buford Harmon, who preceded her in death and shared over 60 unremarkable years together. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Kuykendall.

Betty is survived by her son, Todd (Julie) Harmon; her daughter, Kim Harmon; her grandchildren, Joshua Harmon, Alex (Joe) Chronis, Ashlee (Nick) Howes, Kaylee (Drew) Gast, and C.J. Bradburn; and her great-grandchildren, Rylee Howes and Beau Chronis, with a future baby Howes on the way; brothers, Mark (Julie) Kuykendall and Dan (Deb) Kuykendall; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and three generations of cousins, all of whom she loved dearly.  She treasured her role as mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and nothing brought her more happiness than gathering her family together—near and far.

Betty devoted over 40 years to Conlin Travel, retiring as Vice President. Her career reflected her remarkable work ethic, leadership, and professionalism. She traveled the world for both business and leisure, embracing new experiences and sharing them with those she loved.

She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—working in her yard, playing cards with her dearest friends, and shopping, which she approached with true expertise. No matter whose home she was visiting, there was rarely a time the washer wasn't running; caring for others was simply part of who she was.

Known as the hardest working, classiest lady ever, Betty was a second mom and grandma to many. Her generosity, strength, and grace left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held 4-7 pm Friday, July 10, 2026 at Inverness Country Club Clubhouse (13900 N. Territorial Road, Chelsea, MI 48118). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Arbor Hospice or Chelsea Retirement Center .
