Benerie Patrica Austin, born March 27, 1930 in Lansing, Michigan, was one of two children born to Booker T. Jones and Agnes Jones. Benerie was united in marriage to Don Frazier, divorced, and later married to Robert Austin 30 plus years until his passing. She gave birth to three children, Pamela Jones Hobson, Don Frazier and Julian Frazier.

Benerie graduated from Sexton High School in Lansing, attended Michigan State University and graduated from Northwest Institute of Medical Technology. She worked as a hospital administrator and later as a union organizer.

Benerie had a spirited personality and would not hesitate to voice her opinion. She also was noted for having a great sense of humor. Unfortunately her personality was taken by illness, Dementia. She lost her battle with the disease and passed May 21, 2026.

Benerie is survived by her son Don Frazier, daughter-in-law Brenda Frazier, grandsons Eric Frazier and Robert Sundy II (Kimberly Sundy); great-grandson Robert Sundy III, and first cousin Francis Byrd.

It is not darkness you are going to, for God is Light.

It is not lonely, for Christ is with you.

It is not an unknown Country for Christ is there.
