Arthur William Stauch, age 63, of Pinckney, passed away May 8th, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of service, strength, and devotion to his family.

Art was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Stauch and Rosemarie Stauch. He is lovingly survived by his sisters, Laura (Stormy) Elsasser and Starlyn Day; his brother, Doug Stauch, and his beloved sons, Jacob Stauch and Kyle Stauch.

Shortly after high school, Arthur married the love of his life, Susan Mull. Together they built a family that became the center of his world. The births of his sons, Kyle and Jacob, were among the proudest and happiest moments of his life.

Art dedicated much of his life to serving others. He was a respected EMT and firefighter with the Dexter Fire Department and answered the call to serve at Ground Zero following the events of September 11 attacks as part of a search and rescue team. His courage, compassion, and willingness to help others reflected the kind of man he was.

Art carried on the tradition from his father Jerry of "Dam Keeper" for the Portage Lake (John Flook) Dam, serving as the longest caretaker of the Dam.  He had a great love of the water and lived at Portage Lake in Pinckney.  He could fix almost anything and if he didn't know how, he would figure it out without the help of AI. He was always willing to help a friend or family member in need.

In his younger years, Arthur loved playing sports, especially football. He also found great joy in the outdoors, spending time hunting, and fishing whenever he could. Thursday night was "fishing night" with his best friend Steve and cousin Dave.

Arthur will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, service, and deep love for his family. He touched many lives through both his work and his friendship, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

We are so grateful that so many of our family and friends have been able to make it out to visit Art before he passed and it was his wish to be cremated so we will not be holding a viewing.  Plans for a celebration of Art's life are in the works for a later date, so we'll keep you posted.
