Archie T. Carpenter 1942-2024

Age 81, of Ypsilanti, MI passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024.

He was born in Altamont Avery County, North Carolina to Everett Carpenter and Ethel Sneed on November 25, 1942. Archie served in the United States Army from 12-06-1962 through 11-23-1964, after leaving the Army he moved to Ypsilanti, MI and began work at General Motors Willow Run Plant retiring in 1991. He was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2250 in Ypsilanti, MI. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by three daughters, Theresa Carpenter of Ypsilanti, MI, Gwenna (Gary) Adkins of Belleville, MI and Lori (Duane) Hunter of Willis, MI; three grandchildren, Matthew Ward, Justin (Brittney) Ward and Darren Hunter; four great-grandchildren, Robert Caddell, Justin Ward II, Ella Ward and Wixom Ward; two sisters, Norma Vance and Louise Smith; one brother, Ben Carpenter, and several nieces and nephews.

Archie was proceeded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Doris A. Carpenter (2019), his parents and two brothers Bruce Carpenter and L.E. "Bud" Carpenter.
