Edimo, Andrew Mekia

Ypsilanti, MI

Age 66, went home to be with the Lord May 1, 2025. He was born October 1, 1958 in Limbe, Cameroon, the son of Mekia Macaulay Edimo and Agnes Elong Kingue.

Andrew worked at the National Headquarters of Salvation Army as an IT Technician for several years then moved to Michigan and worked for ROI as a Rehabilitation Assistant for nine years before his demise. He felt a strong connection with the community and enjoyed positive social interactions. He sought to promote the welfare of others. In his free time, Andrew enjoyed singing, swimming, debating and laughing. He was very family-oriented and loved spending time with family and friends.

Sango Edimo is survived by his wife of 22 years, Ma Eli Edimo; his son Arnold Oben, his sister, several nieces and nephews, several adopted sons and daughters, grandchildren and a host of special friends and family to mourn his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister, cousins, nephews, aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends at Stark Funeral Professionals for visitation from 2-5 pm Friday, June 13, 2025 (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti, MI 48197) followed by a wake keeping at Skyline Hotel (31500 Wick Road, Romulus, MI 48174) at 7 pm.

A funeral service will be held 10 am Saturday, June 14, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Nathaniel Fryer officiating (1432 Washtenaw Avenue, Ann Arbor, MI 48104). Andrew will be laid to rest in Union-Udell Cemetery, Ypsilanti Township.
