Dudley, Almus Eugene "Gene"

Romulus, MI

Age 96, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at his home. He was born July 29, 1928 in Corning, AR, the son of Almus L.  and Gladys E. (Morrison) Dudley.

Gene was an avid bowler. If he wasn't bowling himself, he could be found watching it. He also enjoyed fishing as a relaxing pastime. A member of South Side Baptist Tabernacle since 1980, Gene spent many years volunteering there as an usher and even helped to build the church.

Gene is survived by his wife Janet Dudley, son Bobby G. Dudley, daughter Bernita (Cory) Baas, son-in-law Gary L. Gasser, stepchildren Terry, Joyce and Lisa; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughters Charlene, Velma and Pam; eight siblings, daughter-in-law Fumiko Dudley and stepson Larry.

A funeral service will be held 1 pm Monday, June 30, 2025 at South Side Baptist Tabernacle where family will receive friends 11 am until time of service (6710 Textile Road, Ypsilanti). Gene will be laid to rest in Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery, Flat Rock.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church .
