Albert J. Laster, age 77, went home to be with the Lord on June 13, 2025, at his home. He was born on October 9, 1947, in Greenville, Mississippi, to the late Albert Lee Laster and Myrtle Lee Bell.

Albert lived a full and generous life. He found joy in the simple pleasures—driving, fishing, singing, drawing, roller skating, working on cars, and sharing meals with loved ones. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

He dedicated many years of service in dietetics at the University of Michigan Hospital, where his hard work and warm spirit touched many.

Albert is lovingly remembered by his wife, Barbara Laster; daughter Venus Bell-Danner (Clark K. Danner); sons Bam West and Devon Maxwell; granddaughters Barbara Laster, Cherlissa Mitchell, and Kenyatta Mitchell; and four great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind several beloved brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time.
