Steven Edward Simpson

Age 49, passed away Friday, February 24, 2023 in Ypsilanti, MI. He was born November 19, 1973 in Jackson, MI, the son of Edward and Zora (Berger) Simpson.

Steven worked at the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn for several years. He enjoyed playing Candy Crush, watching Star Wars movies, boats and visiting comic book stores with his daughter. He loved constructing and ironing clothes.

Steven is survived by his wife La'Shawn, children Shaquanda Simpson, Naviah Zora Simpson, Niesha and Gregory; grandchildren Ayden, Kyniah, Kymello, Kymari, Ge'marri, Bryson, Aniyah and NeOnna; siblings Camille (Damon) Denson and Julie Simpson; uncles Levi Simpson and Gery Welch; nieces Abigail, Christina and Candace; nephew Blake, special cousins Lori Simpson and Jodi Simpson; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private service will be held for immediate family only. Extended family and friends may attend Steven's burial 1 pm Friday, March 3, 2023 at United Memorial Gardens in Superior Township, MI.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for Naviah Zora's college education may be directed to La'Shawn.
