Lillian Carol Shaw, age 81, of Ypsilanti, Michigan, passed away on August 29, 2026, at her home surrounded by the comfort of familiar surroundings and the love of her family. She was born on January 10, 1945, in Dresden, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Donald and Ruth (Solomon) Davis. She married the love of her life, James Shaw, on November 4, 1979, in Ypsilanti, and together they shared many cherished years of marriage.

Lillian dedicated 30 years of her career to DTE Energy, formerly Michigan Gas, where she worked as a meter reader and new service representative. She retired in 2005. She was a faithful attendee of the Ypsilanti Church of Christ, where her faith was an important part of her life.

Lillian enjoyed many simple pleasures, including sewing, working Sudoku puzzles, reading, playing solitaire, traveling, and spending time reading her Bible. Above all, she treasured her family. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her beloved husband, James Shaw of Ypsilanti; her sons, Rodney Davis and Todd Davis, both of Ypsilanti; her daughter, Dochelle Shaw of Edmond, Oklahoma; her sisters, Diane (Paul) Mooney and Mary Ellen, both of Chatham, Ontario; her brother, Anthony Davis of Chatham, Ontario; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Donald and Ruth Davis of Chatham, Ontario, Lillian was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Franklin of London, Ontario, and her brother, Terry Davis of Chatham, Ontario.

A memorial service celebrating Lillian’s life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Ypsilanti Church of Christ, with Officiant Kenneth Gatewood presiding. Memorial gathering will begin at 10 am.

Lillian’s loving spirit, steadfast faith, and devotion to her family will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
