Ivan Dale Ledford, age 80, of Ypsilanti, Michigan, passed away at his home on Sunday, August 9, 2026. He was born on March 3, 1946, in Glen Fork, West Virginia, the son of Paul and Ida (Brooks) Ledford. On June 29, 1968, Ivan married the love of his life, Marion (McIlwain) Ledford, in Ypsilanti. Together they shared many years of marriage and family life until her passing.

Ivan was a longtime resident of Ypsilanti and worked as an electrician for General Motors for 28 years before retiring in 2003. He was a hardworking man who took great pride in his work and enjoyed the friendships he made throughout his years of employment.

Ivan enjoyed staying active and had many interests. He loved working on hot rods, putting together crossword puzzles, and attending monthly breakfasts with his retirement buddies. He was affiliated with the Moose Club and a local dart club. He also enjoyed model trains, NASCAR, visiting race tracks and car shows, and flea markets. Ivan especially cherished spending time with his great-grandchildren and grandchildren. He loved his animals and took great pride in making improvements around his home.

Ivan will be deeply missed by his son, Ivan Ledford II; grandchildren, Ashley (Demetrius) Weston, and Taylor (Zach) Hash, and Kameron Register; great-grandchildren, Demetrius Weston Jr., Mareon Weston, Asciana Hash, Gracie Hash, and Josie Hash; and brother, Donald Ledford.

In addition to his wife, Marion, Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ida Ledford; brothers, Perry Ledford and Earl Ledford; sister, Loretta Ledford; and son, Ryan Ledford.

The family has chosen simple cremation. No arrangements are planned at this time.
