Age 92, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 27, 2023. He was born February 11, 1931 in Ypsilanti, the son of Joseph and Ella Britton. He graduated with the 100 ^th class of Ypsilanti High School in 1949. Harold served four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He married his high school sweetheart Marlene Moffett in 1953 and they have been happily married for 69 years.

Harold and Marlene lived in Tucson, AZ during his last year of service before moving back to Ypsilanti where he worked at Moffetts shoes. He then spent 28 years at Wagner-Stark Funeral Home before buying Congdons Ace Hardware, where he thought he would retire. He was called back to work part-time at Stark Funeral Service which he did for many more years. Harold and Marlene loved to travel, taking trips to Antarctica, Asia, across Europe and all over the United States. Harold loved the Detroit Tigers and playing golf with his Tuesday group.

Harold is survived by his wife and children; Charlene, Donald (Lynne) both of Ypsilanti, Ronald (Linda) of Naples, FL and Sharon (Ron) Adam of Metamora; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Fred and Joe Jr. and sister Lillian Smith.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 11 am until time of Funeral Service at 1 pm at Stark Funeral Professionals, 101 S. Washington St. Ypsilanti. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
