Christine Marie Millhouse, known to family and friends as Chris Gill, passed away at her home in Ypsilanti, Michigan, on October 7, 2026 at the age of 78.

Chris was born on June 9, 1948, at Rowe Memorial Hospital in Stockbridge, Michigan, to Clarence and Joyce (Kinsey) Millhouse. She grew up in Stockbridge alongside her siblings, John, Julia, and Linda, and graduated from Stockbridge High School in 1966. She went on to attend Cleary College, where she earned a certificate from the Medical Secretary program.

Chris began her career at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in 1969 as a medical transcriptionist. She later joined Michigan Heart, where she became a highly respected and valued professional, providing transcription services for more than 40 cardiologists. After more than four decades of dedicated service, she retired from Michigan Heart in 2009. She continued private transcription services in her home for several years.

Outside of her career, Chris had a passion for many things, including photography and she treasured capturing memories of her nieces and nephew as they grew up. She was an avid reader and music lover. As a devoted Bruce Springsteen fan she attended many of his concerts throughout the years.

Some of Chris’s favorite memories were made vacationing in the Florida Keys, a place that reflected her love of tropical beauty. Her affection for palm trees was evident in her extensive collection of palm tree sculptures and paintings, bringing a little piece of that tropical paradise into her life.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Joyce, her brother, John, and her sister, Julia. She is survived by her sister, Linda (Millhouse) Peña of Ann Arbor; her cousin, Kay Lee Coakley of California; and her nieces and nephew.

A private burial will be held at a later date.
